Liability Underwriter – Large Corporate Insurance

About the role

Join NFU Mutual’s Large Corporate Insurance team to underwrite complex liability risks for some of the UK’s biggest corporate clients. You will manage a portfolio of accounts exceeding £100,000 and contribute to a business that generates over £200 million in Gross Written Premium Income.

Key responsibilities

• Own and develop a portfolio of large commercial liability accounts, assessing risk and delivering underwriting decisions.
• Negotiate terms with agents, brokers and clients, ensuring fair outcomes and high‑quality service.
• Support agents and brokers in client meetings to add value and strengthen relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience underwriting large commercial liability risks within the UK general insurance market.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence decisions and build lasting relationships.
• Problem‑solving ability, collaborative mindset and strategic thinking.
• CII qualification (or willingness to obtain one) is desirable.
