Life Sciences Lawyer (8+ PQE)

About the role

Our client, a leading life sciences practice in London, is seeking an experienced Life Sciences Lawyer to join their commercial team. The role involves advising a diverse portfolio of start‑ups, high‑growth companies and global pharmaceutical and medtech organisations on complex commercial and intellectual property matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate IP licensing and partnering agreements.
• Structure and manage clinical trial arrangements and research collaborations.
• Prepare and review commercial contracts across biotech, biopharma, vaccines, medical devices and diagnostics.
• Provide regulatory advice and ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
• Deliver IP advisory services and conduct due‑diligence investigations.
• Support universities, research institutes, charities and government bodies on collaborative projects.
• Maintain strong commercial awareness and adapt advice to evolving life‑science market needs.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with at least 8 years post‑qualification experience.
• Demonstrated commercial law expertise gained in private practice or in‑house.
• Proven track record advising life‑science clients, including biotech, pharma and medtech firms.
• Excellent technical ability to handle complex commercial and IP matters.
• Flexibility to manage a broad and varied caseload across multiple sectors.
