Lifestyle Activities Coordinator – Care Home

About the role

Excelcare Holdings is seeking a Lifestyle Activities Coordinator to join the team at Abbot Care Home in Harlow. You will design and deliver engaging programmes that enrich the daily lives of residents, supporting their physical, emotional and social wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Create, plan and organise a varied activities schedule for residents, both within the home and off‑site.
• Collaborate with care staff, families and external community organisations to tailor activities to individual and group needs.
• Develop partnerships with local schools, colleges, churches and clubs to broaden activity options.
• Arrange outings and day trips, ensuring safety and relevance to residents’ interests.
• Monitor participation and outcomes, adjusting programmes to maximise enjoyment and independence.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar role or caring environment is desirable.
• Highly organised, proactive and able to work independently.
• Confident, enthusiastic with a "can‑do" attitude.
• Genuine passion for improving the lives of older people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
