Lift Engineer – Join Talent Pool

About the role

Schindler is building a talent pool of qualified Lift Engineers to meet ongoing demand for lift servicing and maintenance across the UK. By joining the pool, you will be considered for future positions where you can contribute to safe, reliable vertical transportation in a variety of buildings and transport hubs.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repairs and component replacement.
• Diagnose and rectify faults on lifts, ensuring rapid return to service.
• Perform functional checks such as speed, motor start/stop, load handling, noise, temperature and power supply verification using approved tools.
• Conduct routine inspections and adjustments in line with company procedures and document all service activities.
• Execute advanced fault‑finding and diagnostic procedures using technical manuals and test equipment.
• Undertake site surveys to assess lift conditions and support planning for maintenance work.

Required profile

• Experience in lift servicing, maintenance or repairs (preferred).
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in lift maintenance or equivalent qualification.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including multi‑brand equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and operate independently with a flexible approach.
• Good communication skills for interaction with clients, service leaders and inspectors.
• Manual dexterity for handling tools and repetitive lifting tasks.
