Lift Engineering Design Manager – Standards, QA & Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a senior Lift Engineering Design Manager to lead technical governance, design assurance and compliance across major works, repairs and maintenance projects nationwide. Reporting to the Major Works Director, you will shape engineering standards and ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance for a leading independent lift specialist.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical governance and design assurance for lift installations, modernisations and major works.
• Oversee compliance activities across repair and maintenance operations.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, safety procedures and quality frameworks.
• Conduct design reviews and provide technical judgement on complex projects.
• Collaborate with clients, site teams and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to standards.
• Support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in lift engineering, technical governance and building services.
• Proven track record in major works, modernisation and compliance projects.
• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical or Lift Engineering (desirable).
• Senior‑level professional with strong leadership and decision‑making abilities.
