Lift Installation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lift Installation Engineer to join Schindler’s London team, delivering safe and reliable lift and escalator installations across the South East England region. The role involves installing, aligning and commissioning lift and escalator equipment in line with approved procedures and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install lift and escalator well and ancillary equipment, selecting appropriate tools and equipment.
• Fit, align and adjust traction equipment, lift ropes, suspension, safety and governor ropes.
• Install lift doors and frames, including manual, power‑operated, sliding, hinged and bi‑parting doors, together with operators and safety devices.
• Carry out final checks, adjustments and testing prior to commissioning.
• Conduct site surveys and keep supervisors informed of progress, hours worked and any non‑compliance.
• Maintain communication with customers to ensure their requirements are met.

Required profile

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Lift/Escalator Installation.
• Proven fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
