Line of Business Financial Controller (contract)

About the role

This contract position supports the Central Funding Repo business, Product Control and Operations teams, ensuring the integrity of financial statements and regulatory disclosures. You will lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities for assigned lines of business, providing high‑quality variance analysis and commentary.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual ledger close, delivering analytical review of P&L and balance‑sheet items.
• Monitor and reconcile key control and suspense accounts, sub‑ledger to main ledger breaks, and revenue allocations.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations for inventory product lines and support head‑office reporting.
• Maintain a strong control environment through quarterly risk assessments and risk‑dashboard packs.
• Prepare GL account reconciliations, eDR derivatives reporting sign‑off, and second‑level reviews of Standard of Documentation packs.
• Review inter‑group transfer‑pricing postings, wire settlements and new business unit set‑ups.
• Assist in the preparation of IFRS‑compliant annual financial statements and SOX testing.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors during interim and year‑end audits.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of financial statements, month‑end close processes and variance analysis.
• Experience with IFRS reporting standards and SOX control frameworks.
• Ability to work closely with product control, operations and audit teams to resolve accounting breaks.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail in reconciliations and risk assessments.
