Link Worker – Supporting Special Education Pupils

About the role
The Link Worker will support pupils at Meadows School, a special day school for 5‑19‑year‑olds with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Working closely with teachers, families and external agencies, the role helps young people develop resilience, character strengths and achieve their educational goals.
Key responsibilities
- Build positive relationships with pupils, providing one‑to‑one and group support.
- Collaborate with teachers to tailor interventions that meet each pupil’s EHCP requirements.
- Coordinate with families, social services and health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s wellbeing.
- Monitor progress, record outcomes and contribute to multi‑agency meetings.
- Promote the school’s values of Engage, Enrich and Empower through everyday practice.
Required profile
- Experience working with children and young people who have social, emotional or mental health difficulties.
- Understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Commitment to the safeguarding of children and willingness to undergo DBS and other pre‑employment checks.
