Litigated File Handler – Claims Management

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious, experienced Litigated File Handler to join our dynamic Claims Management division in Bolton. The role involves managing a caseload of litigated RTA suspected fraud files for a range of insurance clients, working closely with fraud specialists and lead lawyers to achieve commercially sound outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Run a caseload of litigated RTA fraud files, adhering to client guidelines and internal processes.
• Analyse evidence, set case strategy with clients and lead lawyers, and identify strategic litigation opportunities.
• Maintain accurate case records in the management system from opening to closure.
• Report to insurer clients throughout the claim lifecycle and ensure compliance with procedural deadlines.
• Undertake advocacy where cost‑effective and delegate tasks to assistants as appropriate.

Required profile

• Proven experience in civil litigation claims handling or as a legal File Handler (ILEX, LPC or equivalent).
• Understanding of insurance litigation practice, indemnity principles and the CPR.
• High commercial awareness and ability to meet financial and KPI targets.
