Litigation Associate – Commercial & Cross‑Border Disputes

About the role

Our client, a Chambers‑ranked Band 1 firm, is looking for a Litigation Associate with at least two years of post‑qualification experience to join its leading disputes practice in London. The role involves handling high‑profile, complex and cross‑border disputes for financial institutions, multinational corporations and sovereign clients.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on complex commercial and cross‑border disputes.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, applications and other court documents.
• Manage disclosure and evidence‑gathering exercises, including large‑scale document reviews.
• Coordinate with clients, counsel, experts and overseas lawyers.
• Support strategic case management, trial preparation and legal research.
• Assist partners and senior associates on high‑value, business‑critical litigation.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales or another common‑law jurisdiction with the right to practice in England & Wales.
• Minimum two years PQE in commercial litigation, banking litigation, civil fraud or a related disputes practice.
• Fluent Portuguese (written and spoken) for client and witness communication.

Required skills

• High Court litigation experience (statements of case, disclosure, witness statements, expert evidence, interim applications, trial preparation).
• Document review and coordination with international counsel.
• Drafting of court documents and pleadings.
• Analytical and project‑management abilities.
