Litigation Chartered Legal Executive

About the role

We are seeking a Litigation Chartered Legal Executive to join our team in Greater Manchester. Working within the Government Legal Department, you will support high‑profile litigation and advisory matters that impact public policy and national legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and guidance to Ministers, senior officials and departmental teams.
• Manage a diverse caseload of litigation, commercial, employment and EU law matters.
• Draft and review legal documents, pleadings and policy statements.
• Collaborate with other legal professionals across government departments to develop case strategy.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks.

Required profile

• A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
• Strong analytical judgement and ability to deliver balanced, risk‑based advice.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal issues clearly.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• For London‑based roles, DV security clearance may be required.
