About the role
The Litigation Lawyer will join a team of legal professionals supporting UK Government departments. You will advise ministers and senior officials, provide guidance on complex legal matters, and manage a varied caseload across litigation, advisory, commercial and employment law.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality legal advice to government ministers and departmental officials.
- Draft and review legal documents, opinions and briefing notes.
- Manage litigation matters from inception through to resolution.
- Collaborate with colleagues across different legal specialties, including commercial, employment and EU legislation.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with statutory deadlines.
Required profile
- A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive.
- Ability to think strategically and creatively about legal issues.
- Strong analytical judgment and the confidence to give balanced, risk‑based advice.
- Open‑minded, impartial and able to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to develop skills across multiple areas of law.
