Load Bank LV/HV Engineer

About the role

The LV/HV Load Bank Engineer designs, installs, commissions and maintains load bank systems for low and high voltage applications in the UK and Europe. The role ensures the optimal operation and reliability of power sources through load testing and resolution of technical issues, working within the Service and Projects divisions while following strict safety protocols for high-voltage equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the design process, with a focus on the installation, commissioning and maintenance of load bank systems in critical settings.
• Carry out load testing and troubleshooting to ensure safe and reliable operation and extend power source life.
• Work with engineers, technicians and clients to provide technical support and solutions for load bank challenges.
• Develop and follow safety protocols and industry standards for high-voltage equipment.

Required profile

• In-depth knowledge of electrical theory and high-voltage principles, especially in power generation.
• Experience in load bank design, operation, testing methods and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of logistics and asset transportation for LV load bank assets and HV packaged substations.
• Valid full driving licence and ability to travel regularly across the UK and Europe.
• Strong customer focus, self-motivated, effective communicator and strategic thinker.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities, and good deadline management.
