Locum Children with Disabilities Social Worker – Brent

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Children with Disabilities (CWD) Social Worker to join a well‑established team in the London Borough of Brent on a locum basis. This is a long‑term assignment (minimum six months) offering a competitive hourly rate and the chance to make a real difference for children and young people with complex needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of children with disabilities, including Child in Need, Child Protection and Looked‑After Children where applicable.
• Complete statutory assessments, care plans, reviews and risk assessments within required timescales.
• Develop outcome‑focused care plans and ensure high‑quality case recordings and reports.
• Collaborate with health, education and multi‑agency professionals to deliver coordinated support.
• Build positive relationships with children, young people and their families to promote the best possible outcomes.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Previous experience working within a Children with Disabilities team or frontline children’s services.
• Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and SEND framework.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent assessment, communication and report‑writing abilities.

Required skills

• Social Work England registration.
