Locum Commercial Property Solicitor – Fixed‑term Contract

About the role

We are partnering with a boutique commercial property firm to appoint a locum Commercial Property Solicitor on a three‑month fixed‑term basis, starting early September 2026. The role offers immediate responsibility for a diverse portfolio of high‑value property transactions and the chance to work alongside an experienced team in London.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end commercial property transactions, from instruction to completion.
• Draft, review and negotiate leases, licences, underlets and related documentation.
• Conduct due diligence on acquisitions and disposals.
• Provide advice on landlord and tenant matters, including licences to assign and alterations.
• Act on the grant of new commercial leases for both landlords and tenants.
• Advise on property finance transactions for borrowers and lenders.
• Support Section 106 agreements and VAT‑related property issues.
• Oversee file administration, including Land Registry applications, billing and compliance.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with a current practising certificate.
• Minimum 7 years post‑qualification experience in commercial property law.
• Proven ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
• Commercially minded, proactive and well‑organised.
