Locum Consultant – General Medicine (Full/Part Time)

About the role

NHS Forth Valley is seeking an enthusiastic Locum Consultant to join its acute medical service. The post can be undertaken on a full‑time or part‑time basis, supporting acute general medical patients on the ward and in the acute assessment unit.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultant‑level care to patients with acute general medical and gastro‑enterological conditions on Ward B32.
• Collaborate daily with specialist gastroenterology consultants and multidisciplinary teams including stroke, neurology, rheumatology, respiratory, diabetes, endocrine, cardiology and infectious disease.
• Contribute to the acute medical receiving function in the acute assessment unit as required.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in ward handovers.
• Support junior medical staff and contribute to teaching and audit activities.

Required profile

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Eligibility to be on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of a CCT award.
• Recent evidence of continued academic and professional development.
• Excellent communication, listening and organisational abilities.

Required skills

• MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualification.
