Locum Educational Psychologist – Gateshead

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Educational Psychologist to work on a locum basis for the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead. The role focuses on delivering statutory assessments to support students in overcoming challenges and reaching their full potential. Flexible, outside IR35 arrangements allow you to set your own schedule and work the number of days that suit you.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct statutory educational assessments for pupils in the Gateshead area.
• Complete at least one assessment per month, adapting to the client’s demand.
• Provide clear, evidence‑based reports and recommendations.
• Collaborate with schools, families and multidisciplinary teams as required.

Required profile

• Qualified in Educational Psychology.
• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Availability to undertake a minimum of one assessment each month.
• Experience working with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) issues is desirable.
