About the role
Join a leading investment bank’s Front Office Low‑Latency team in London. You will work on a multi‑year modernisation project, building high‑performance Java applications that power critical trading systems.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain low‑latency Java applications for essential front‑office systems.
- Investigate performance bottlenecks and optimise code to meet strict latency targets.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout the full software development lifecycle.
- Participate in code reviews, testing and deployment activities.
Required profile
- Strong core Java expertise with a proven track record of building performant applications.
- Hands‑on experience with low‑latency or real‑time systems and event‑driven architectures.
- Background in financial services or other latency‑critical industries.
Required skills
- Core Java
- Low‑latency libraries such as Disruptor, Aeron, Chronicle (beneficial)
- Real‑time/event‑driven system design
