Luxury Textiles Showroom Assistant (Maternity Cover)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Textiles Showroom Assistant to support a luxury fabrics company in Chelsea for a one‑year maternity cover. You will be the first point of contact for interior designers, architects and other design professionals visiting the showroom, helping them find the right fabrics for high‑end residential and hospitality projects.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and assist clients in person, by phone and email, presenting the collection and cross‑selling where appropriate.
• Process sample requests, client orders and purchase orders, including US‑based orders.
• Maintain the showroom aesthetic, refresh displays and keep sample lengths up to date.
• Organise sample returns, keep cutting folders tidy and manage incoming stock orders efficiently.
• Check payments, process pro‑formas and coordinate twice‑weekly US shipments via FedEx.
• Perform quality‑control liaison between warehouse staff and clients after invoicing.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an interiors showroom or a similar retail environment.
• Strong interest in interior design and luxury fabrics.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently within a friendly team of ten.

• Monday‑to‑Friday schedule (9:00‑17:30).
• 4 weeks holiday plus UK public holidays and additional paid leave over the Christmas period.
• Competitive salary between £30,000 and £33,000 per year.
