M&A Director – Business Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced M&A Director to lead our Business Services sector practice. You will work with a high‑performing corporate finance team that advises leading mid‑market and global companies on equity and debt transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and build a robust pipeline of buy‑side and sell‑side mandates using your senior network.
• Lead deal execution from strategic review through to closing, ensuring rigorous and efficient delivery.
• Drive regional business development and contribute to the firm’s go‑to‑market strategy.
• Leverage firm‑wide senior relationships to enhance deal opportunities.
• Coach and develop experienced colleagues, balancing origination with delivery capability.
• Establish strong relationships with intermediaries and external advisers.
• Participate in strategic decisions shaping the team’s growth.

Required profile

• Strong academic background (ACA, CFA, MBA or equivalent).
• Significant M&A advisory experience in investment banking, Big 4, private equity, boutique or corporate development.
• Proven track record of winning competitive mandates.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Full‑cycle deal execution experience, from origination to completion.
• Exceptional communication skills and gravitas to influence at all levels.
• Demonstrated success building and leading high‑calibre teams.
