About the role
We are looking for a Mac‑focused Desktop Support Engineer to join our customer's IT team in Cambridge on an initial 3‑month contract. The environment is approximately 90 % Mac and 10 % Windows, so strong hands‑on Mac/macOS support experience is essential.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1st/2nd line desktop support, primarily for Mac users
- Manage and resolve tickets through the IT service desk
- Provide face‑to‑face and walk‑up support
- Set up new users and hardware
- Support onboarding and off‑boarding
- Manage user access and general IT requests
- Troubleshoot Mac hardware and software issues
- Deliver a professional, friendly service to users
Required profile
- Strong Mac/macOS support experience
- Previous desktop or IT support experience
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Comfortable working onsite and dealing directly with users
