Machine Operator – Fast-Paced Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Machine Operator to join our fast‑paced biscuit production line in Edinburgh. You will be responsible for keeping high‑speed wrapping equipment running smoothly while upholding the highest standards of quality, hygiene and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Operate high‑speed wrapping machines and checkweighers to maintain consistent production flow.
• Collaborate with up to 40 colleagues per shift to achieve daily output targets.
• Complete accurate production documentation, including product codes and quality records.
• Maintain “clean as you go” hygiene and housekeeping standards.
• Follow all quality, health and safety procedures and report any issues promptly.
• Support Total Productive Maintenance activities to reduce downtime.
• Assist in training and onboarding new team members once established.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Comfortable working in a high‑volume, fast‑paced production setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to consistently follow hygiene, safety and operational procedures.
• Good communication skills and a team‑oriented approach.
• Self‑motivated with a proactive problem‑solving mindset.

Required skills

• Operating high‑speed wrapping machines.
• Operating checkweighers.
• Understanding of Total Productive Maintenance principles.
