Maintenance Electrician – Heavy Industrial – Hartlepool

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Electrician to join Tata Steel’s Hartlepool works on a permanent basis. The role involves supporting a high‑volume tube production environment with a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern, including day, night and Saturday shifts. You will work on‑site, ensuring electrical systems remain reliable and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair electrical equipment across the plant.
• Provide first‑line support to manufacturing areas.
• Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot relay control circuits, AC/DC motors and various drives.
• Perform basic fault finding on Siemens S7 and 1500 PLC systems.
• Identify and rectify electrical faults, conducting root‑cause analysis.
• Contribute to plant reliability projects and continuous improvement.
• Adhere to strict health and safety protocols and site‑specific safe systems of work.

Required profile

• Time‑served electrical apprenticeship.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a heavy‑industrial environment.
• Valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
• Flexibility to work the 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
