Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical focus to join a manufacturing operation in Sheffield. The role involves responding to equipment breakdowns, ensuring preventive maintenance, and driving continuous improvement on heavy‑industry machinery.

Key responsibilities

• React to breakdowns on furnaces, overhead cranes, automated machines and robots.
• Follow the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule to minimise downtime.
• Adhere to health and safety policies at all times.
• Liaise with production teams to coordinate repair timescales.
• Identify and implement improvements to prevent future failures.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault‑finding abilities.
• Experience with PLCs is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to commute from Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, Doncaster, Wakefield, Worksop, Leeds, Huddersfield or Chesterfield.
