Maintenance Engineer – Field Service (Manchester)

About the role

This is a field‑based Maintenance Engineer position supporting an international software client in the Manchester area. You will work 12‑hour shifts on a 4‑on‑4‑off rota, receive full training, and be provided with a company van. A full UK driver’s licence is required.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out remedial maintenance requested by customers.
• Install and commission machines and equipment on site.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation.
• Promote best‑practice approaches in all tasks.
• Complete work dockets, service reports and weekly/monthly performance reports.
• Assist in maintaining organisational charts for customer networking purposes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a field service engineering or technician role.
• Mechanical and electrical knowledge with hands‑on maintenance experience.
• Comfort working on the road using a van or car.
• Strong customer relationship skills and flexibility with working hours.
• Ability to work under pressure, solve problems and operate both independently and as part of a team.
