Maintenance Engineer – FMCG Snack Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a leading snack manufacturer in Stevenage. You will work a 4‑on‑4‑off rotating days and nights shift pattern, ensuring high‑speed production lines stay operational and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on high‑speed production and packaging machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on PLC‑controlled equipment and electrical systems.
• Carry out electrical maintenance, repairs and diagnostics.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement long‑term solutions.
• Support continuous‑improvement projects to boost reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS.

Required profile

• Maintenance Engineer experience within FMCG or high‑speed manufacturing.
• Strong electrical fault‑finding and maintenance skills.
• Experience working with PLCs and automated production equipment.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Engineering qualification (Level 3 or equivalent) in Electrical or Multi‑Skilled Engineering.
• Desirable: food or snack manufacturing experience, knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma, mechanical maintenance experience, 18th Edition qualification.
