Maintenance Engineer – Healthcare Operations

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Maintenance Engineer to join a specialist healthcare services organisation in Chessington. The role supports critical plant and equipment that underpin patient safety, operating within a fast‑paced, regulated environment. You will work full‑time on‑site, with occasional travel across the UK and a rotating on‑call schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair plant and machinery to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and weekly compliance testing.
• Oversee contractors and external service engineers on‑site.
• Coordinate annual and quarterly equipment validation and maintain validation and calibration records.
• Manage spare‑parts and tools inventory levels.
• Participate in the on‑call rota, including 24/7 emergency call‑outs and weekend boiler checks.

Required profile

• Apprentice‑trained engineer or equivalent with at least 2 years’ experience in facilities, manufacturing or similar environments.
• Mechanical or electrical engineering background.
• Experience in regulated or compliance‑driven settings (desirable).
• Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points).
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and proactive approach.

• Salary £46,000 – £49,500 per year.
