Maintenance Engineer

About the role

As a Maintenance Engineer you will keep our high‑performance packaging machinery and warehouse infrastructure running smoothly at the Distribution & Packaging Centre in Fradley Park. You will work closely with the Facilities Manager, internal teams and external contractors to deliver reliable operations and support continuous improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot five packaging machines to minimise downtime.
• Carry out general building maintenance, including HVAC, lighting and safety systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues across plant equipment.
• Support project work and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Work at height up to 18 m using MEWP equipment.
• Liaise with external contractors and internal operational partners.
• Optimise preventive‑maintenance schedules using a CMMS.
• Provide technical support and training to operational staff.
• Champion health & safety standards and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Completed an electrically‑biased engineering apprenticeship.
• 5+ years post‑apprenticeship experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and material‑handling equipment.
• Experience with AC/DC drives.
