Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Maintenance Engineer to support a fast‑paced manufacturing operation in Speke. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, improving equipment performance and ensuring continuous production reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on Siemens S7 PLC‑controlled equipment.
• Maintain and improve blow film extrusion lines and associated machinery.
• Support continuous flow production equipment to minimise downtime.
• Identify electrical and mechanical faults and implement effective solutions.
• Work closely with production teams to maintain output and efficiency.
• Contribute to reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in a 1‑in‑3 weekend call‑out rota.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Multi‑skilled background with a strong electrical focus (approximately 60 % electrical, 40 % mechanical).
• Strong electrical fault‑finding abilities.
• Experience working with Siemens S7 PLCs from a fault‑finding perspective.
• Familiarity with continuous process or high‑volume production settings.
• Proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving.
• Ownership of work and commitment to quality.
• Experience with blow film extrusion equipment is advantageous.
