Maintenance Engineer – Leeds Manufacturing Site

About the role

Greencore is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join its Leeds facility, a key site producing a large proportion of the UK’s frozen Yorkshire puddings. You will be responsible for keeping plant and equipment running efficiently to support high‑volume food production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day maintenance tasks and urgent site repairs to maximise production uptime.
• Carry out fault finding, planned and preventative maintenance on plant and equipment.
• Diagnose equipment issues, determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain clear communication with the operations team about engineering activities and schedules.
• Record stock movements from engineering stores and ensure accurate documentation for audit readiness.
• Adhere to food safety standards and health‑and‑safety controls in all work.
• Identify and recommend improvements to enhance safety, efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Required profile

• Ability to prioritise daily tasks and manage own workload.
• Experience requesting engineering parts and coordinating with shift managers.
• Capability to escalate performance‑driven issues according to local procedures.
• Strong focus on compliance with food safety and health‑and‑safety regulations.
