Maintenance Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

This permanent position supports a well‑established manufacturing business in Havant. You will join the engineering team on either a night‑shift pattern or a double‑days rotation, both offering attractive shift premiums. The role focuses on keeping production running smoothly through planned and reactive maintenance, equipment improvement projects, and technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose faults across electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and calibration records.
• Mentor and support maintenance technicians when required.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to monitor equipment performance and identify improvements.
• Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times.

Required profile

• Time‑served or HNC‑qualified in Electro‑Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
• Desire to contribute to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.

Required skills

• Knowledge of PLCs and sensor technology.
• Experience with pneumatic systems and automated equipment.
• Proficiency using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
• Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
• 18th Edition qualification (desirable).
