Maintenance Engineer – Multi‑Skilled Electrical (Food Manufacturing)

About the role

We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join a leading SME food manufacturer. The role operates on a Monday‑Friday schedule with two possible shift patterns and includes occasional Saturday work (1 in 4 weeks) paid at time‑and‑a‑half. The successful candidate will ensure plant assets are ready to produce high‑quality products on time.

Key responsibilities

• Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities safely and to agreed standards.
• Diagnose and fault‑find across hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, PLC and inverter assets.
• Maintain equipment readiness to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
• Apply and communicate robust safe‑working systems, including risk assessments.
• Coach production staff on equipment operation and continuous‑improvement practices.
• Promote a culture of integrity, proactive engineering, and equipment‑focused improvement.

Required profile

• Apprenticeship training within a food manufacturing environment or equivalent technical qualifications (minimum NVQ Level 3, BTEC Engineering, or similar).
• Experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably with exposure to multi‑disciplinary plant equipment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
