Maintenance Engineer – PLC Training (3‑Shift)

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join a long‑standing manufacturing business that supplies specialist materials to the aerospace, automotive and chemical sectors. The role offers full internal training on PLC systems and will develop your mechanical and electrical maintenance expertise across a 3‑shift operation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair automation and metal‑manufacturing machinery to keep production lines running.
• Perform fault finding and corrective work on motors, gearboxes, sensors, control panels and PLCs.
• Carry out routine mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks on a rotating weekly shift pattern.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Background in manufacturing, industrial environments or ex‑forces maintenance.
• Experience with mechanical and basic electrical maintenance.
• Willingness to work a 3‑shift rota (6 am‑2 pm, 2 pm‑10 pm, 10 pm‑6 am).
• Commitment to undertake funded qualifications such as a Level 3 NVQ.

What we offer

• Salary £42,000‑£45,000 per year plus overtime (OTE up to £60k)
• Overtime at time‑and‑a‑half on weekdays and double on Sundays
