Maintenance Fitter – Mechanical Engineering Role

About the role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join a leading metal processing manufacturer in Sheffield. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day engineering and maintenance tasks, ensuring high standards and maximising machine efficiency on fast‑moving production lines.
Key responsibilities
- Perform general mechanical work on pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, motors, drives, belts, pumps, cranes and conveyors.
- Maintain and improve machine efficiency across multiple production lines.
- Carry out routine inspections and repairs in line with company standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and training programmes.
Required profile
- Heavy engineering background with a mechanical bias.
- Time‑served engineer capable of working independently.
- Experience in a manufacturing or metal‑processing environment.
- Willingness to undertake extensive training to broaden skills.
