Maintenance Operative

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Mobile Maintenance Operative to support the upkeep of our portfolio of lock‑up garage sites across Southern England and Greater London. The role is field‑based, requiring travel to various sites and daily collection of a company van and equipment from our Reading office.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain garage doors and frames.
• Patch concrete and carry out minor surface repairs.
• Maintain gutters, perform basic roof clearance and repairs.
• Conduct site clean‑ups and remove fly‑tipped waste.
• Trim hedges and control vegetation on garage sites.
• Change locks, conduct inspections and perform basic garage door repairs.
• Complete job reports, checklists and photographic evidence using a tablet‑based system.
• Liaise with the office and operations team to schedule and follow‑up jobs.

Required profile

• Proven experience in general maintenance, trades or property repair.
• Full UK driving licence (no more than 3 points).
• Ability to travel to sites and collect van/equipment from the Reading RG2 office each day.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and manage a busy schedule.
• Good physical fitness for manual tasks.
