Maintenance Planner

About the role

This is a full‑time Maintenance Planner position on a heavy‑industrial manufacturing site in Gravesend, Kent. The role is designed for an experienced engineer who wants to move from hands‑on work to a planning‑focused, computer‑based position within a growing, forward‑thinking environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed maintenance plans aligned with the Maintenance Management Plan (MMP).
• Review and manage maintenance requests via the CMMS, creating work orders as needed.
• Conduct site assessments and plan required resources, including materials, contractors and tools.
• Prepare risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with supervisors and production teams.
• Manage both reactive and planned maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records for audits and reporting.
• Supervise contractors and act as Responsible Officer, issuing permits to work.

Required profile

• Electrical qualification Level 3 or higher.
• Experience in an industrial or heavy‑manufacturing environment.
• Background in planning, scheduling or project work.
• Comfortable working in a hands‑off, computer‑based role.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
