Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the coordination and planning of all building works for a large facilities management organisation in Leeds. The role involves overseeing both reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring work meets the required standards and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the hands‑on leader and front‑line manager for trades staff.
• Provide technical engineering advice and support to the team.
• Manage and supervise responsive and planned maintenance of plant, equipment and building fabric, using both in‑house labour and external contractors.
• Allocate, monitor and prioritize tasks, ensuring compliance with maintenance specifications and industry best practice.
• Requisition materials, services and transport as required.
• Implement planned preventative maintenance (PPM) procedures and maintain work schedules within a CAFM system.
• Ensure safe working practices in line with statutory, NHS, Trust and company guidelines.
• Deliver toolbox talks and instruct staff on maintenance procedures.

Required profile

• Recognised apprenticeship or City & Guilds qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• ONC or HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Qualified Authorised/Competent Person within an HTM‑related discipline.
• Previous experience working in a maintenance environment, supervising a team.
• Knowledge of building services, engineering plant and equipment maintenance.
• Understanding of risk management and health & safety procedures.
