Maintenance Team Member

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Team Member to join the ibis Hull City Centre hotel in Kingston upon Hull. You will be responsible for keeping the property safe, functional and welcoming for guests by performing a variety of maintenance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance across plumbing, electrical, telecommunications, heating, carpentry and decorating.
• Conduct routine inspections of premises, equipment and building structures, performing reactive and preventive repairs.
• Install, inspect and troubleshoot appliances, heating, air‑conditioning and distribution systems.
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors, ensuring compliance with service agreements.
• Maintain daily logs of repairs, stock levels and asset condition.
• Support hotel safety and environmental initiatives, including fire safety and energy‑saving measures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
• Strong time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality workmanship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools (hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches).
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, telecommunications, carpentry and decorating.
• Experience with heating, ventilation and air‑conditioning (HVAC) systems.
