Maintenance Technician – Hertford

About the role

Ringway is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join its Hertfordshire team at the Hertford depot. This full‑time, on‑site position involves managing job building, works ordering, and supporting both project and third‑party works while upholding safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage Category 2 and Category 3 jobs.
• Prepare and issue Works Packs.
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
• Use Key Performance Measures to drive improvements.
• Monitor team skills and training needs.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and temporary works requirements.
• Maintain high standards of quality and environmental compliance.
• Support positive team morale and collaboration.
• Carry out reasonable tasks requested by management.

Required profile

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with highway maintenance software such as Confirm or Esri.
• Strong written communication and report‑writing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Previous experience in highway maintenance or a similar industry.
• Knowledge of the local Hertfordshire road network (desirable).
• Understanding of safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Experience in cost management and system utilisation.
