Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician will ensure smooth operation of machinery and systems within a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturing environment. Working on‑site in Maidstone, you will join a professional engineering team focused on high operational standards and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of all machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical or electrical faults efficiently.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks and repairs.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Recommend improvements to existing processes and equipment where applicable.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in a process‑engineering discipline or proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing setting.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing or a related engineering field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Demonstrated track record in production technical processes, continuous improvement and OEE optimisation.
• Confidence using all areas of MS Office.
