Maintenance Technician – Rolling Stock (Crawley)

About the role

Shorterm Group is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians to join a long‑term project at the Three Bridges depot in Crawley, supporting a rolling‑stock client. The role involves hands‑on work on passenger vehicles, ensuring they remain safe and operational.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine repairs, inspections and servicing of rolling‑stock passenger vehicles.
• Investigate, diagnose and rectify mechanical and electronic faults.
• Rectify running defects and perform general maintenance tasks.
• Produce comprehensive fault‑finding reports.

Required profile

• Minimum NVQ Level 2 award in a mechanical discipline or equivalent.
• Experience in any of the following sectors: rolling stock, aviation, plant, automotive, HGV, PSV, marine, armed forces or similar.
• Ability to pass a drugs & alcohol test and medical examination.

What we offer

• Hourly rate of £25.16 – £29.98 (Umbrella), dependent on qualifications and experience.
• Long‑term rolling contract with split day and night shift rotation.
• Day shift: 06:45 – 18:15; Night shift: 18:45 – 06:15.
