Major Projects Electrical Lead – Building Services Design

About the role

Kier is seeking a Major Projects Electrical Lead to join its Building Services Design team in Salford/Speke. You will drive electrical design excellence on large, complex construction projects from concept through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Electrical team delivering building services engineering for major new‑build projects.
• Coordinate with the Major Projects Mechanical Lead to ensure integrated, cost‑effective solutions.
• Manage team utilisation, resource balancing and workload distribution.
• Set and monitor quality standards, ensuring compliance with industry best practice.
• Produce design documentation, feasibility studies and technical advice.
• Participate in design meetings, develop concepts and liaise with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Chartered Engineer, member of CIBSE or IET, with a degree in Mechanical Building Services or Electrical Engineering.
• Significant experience in the road‑tunnel industry and large‑scale electrical design.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a broad audience.
• Experience applying quality procedures and document control in engineering design.
• Eligibility to pass the BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) requirements.
