Male Support Worker

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking a Male Support Worker to join a special‑needs college in Hackney. You will help young adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs to live independently and participate fully in classroom and community activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist pupils with daily living tasks, both in the classroom and during community outings.
• Support social activities, helping students maintain connections with family and friends.
• Work as part of a teaching team, providing one‑to‑one or small‑group support during lessons.
• Promote the use of community resources and encourage participation in extracurricular programmes.

Required profile

• Willingness to work Monday‑Friday during term time.
• Ability to travel to Hackney without difficulty.
• Right to work in the UK with no visa restrictions.
• Experience in a support or care role is preferred but not essential.

Required skills

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviours.
• Ability to follow safeguarding and health‑and‑safety procedures.
