Management Accountant – 12‑month Fixed‑Term (Maternity Cover)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join a well‑established manufacturing business in North Bristol on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract covering maternity leave. The role offers hybrid working with at least one day per week in the office and provides exposure to operational finance in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
• Provide detailed cost and variance analysis, investigate root causes and support corrective actions.
• Partner with site leadership to improve financial and operational performance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
• Assist with audit requirements and reporting obligations.
• Deliver accurate, timely financial information for business decision‑making.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives across the finance function.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Management Accountant or in a similar finance role.
• Manufacturing experience is essential.
• Strong analytical ability and proactive problem‑solving.
• Ability to work independently while building relationships across the business.
• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, part‑qualified or qualified‑by‑experience.

Required skills

• Experience working with ERP systems.
