Management Accountant – 35‑hour week, up to £50k

About the role

Meraki Talent is supporting a well‑established transport and infrastructure organisation in Scotland. The Management/Operations Accountant will join the Finance team, reporting to the FP&A Manager, and will be responsible for financial control, commercial analysis and business partnering in a fast‑paced operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse operational expenditure against budgets, forecasts and historical trends.
• Deliver detailed month‑end variance analysis for direct operating and fixed costs.
• Own monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations related to operational activities and review reconciliations prepared by direct reports.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and investment appraisal processes in collaboration with departmental stakeholders.
• Provide financial insight to operational teams and senior management, and represent Finance at operational meetings and projects.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives across finance processes, controls and reporting.
• Assist with audit preparation, governance, compliance and key finance projects.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or equivalent).
• Relevant post‑qualified experience in financial control, budgeting/forecasting and business partnering.
• Strong analytical ability and commercial awareness within an operational setting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
