Management Accountant – Finance Business Partner

About the role

We are partnering with a respected legal services firm in Birmingham to hire a Management Accountant. This role offers a blend of technical accounting and commercial exposure, allowing you to influence business decisions while developing your management accounting expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and own the monthly management accounts for multiple business areas.
• Produce accurate reports, insightful commentary and variance analysis.
• Investigate performance movements and communicate the financial story to stakeholders.
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, contributing to the planning process.
• Identify and implement improvements to reporting packs and finance processes.
• Collaborate with senior finance leaders and business partners across the firm.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or finalist ACCA, CIMA or ACA with ambition to progress.
• Experience preparing management accounts, journals, reconciliations and balance‑sheet reporting.
• Confidence analysing P&L performance and delivering variance commentary.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across finance and the wider business.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
