Management Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing business in the supply chain and logistics sector, is seeking two Management Accountants to join the finance team in Appleton, Warrington. The role offers a hands‑on, varied experience supporting financial reporting and decision‑making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts and support month‑end reporting.
• Produce financial reports, variance analysis and clear commentary.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting activity.
• Prepare and review accruals, pre‑payments and journals.
• Complete balance‑sheet reconciliations and control‑account reviews.
• Work with department heads to understand costs, performance and financial trends.
• Help improve finance processes, controls and reporting as the business grows.
• Provide general support across the wider finance function as required.

Required profile

• Proactive, reliable and commercially aware finance professional.
• Organised, detail‑focused and confident building relationships with non‑finance colleagues.
• Previous experience as a Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or similar role.
• Experience preparing management accounts or supporting month‑end processes.
• Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work closely and effectively with operational and non‑finance colleagues.
• Practical, flexible approach with willingness to support the wider team.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Studying towards ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification.
• Experience within transport, logistics or a fast‑paced operational business is advantageous.
