Management Accountant – Finance Team (US Focus)

About the role

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Belfast, supporting the US and other offices. The role sits within the Financial Control department and is responsible for delivering timely management accounting and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts for the US and other offices, including P&L and balance‑sheet review.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations, flag unreconciled items and escalate when needed.
• Produce accurate monthly results, post journals, review costs and ensure all balances are fully supported.
• Carry out monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate movements and clear aged balances.
• Prepare monthly variance analysis versus budget/forecast and explain key drivers.
• Assist the management team in budgeting and forecasting cycles with high‑quality assumptions.
• Maintain strong financial control in finance and forecasting systems, adhering to internal policies.
• Contribute to statutory and group audit processes by preparing audit‑ready schedules and responding to queries.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and data quality.
• Collaborate with senior accountants, the team lead and the wider finance function on initiatives and analysis.
• Communicate financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Manage competing priorities across month‑end, forecasting and day‑to‑day activities, escalating issues early.

Required profile

• Member of, or working towards membership of, a recognised professional accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• 1–2 years of experience in professional services or a comparable environment.
