About the role

The Management Accountant will support decision‑making by preparing and analysing financial reports, ensuring effective cost management within a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment. Based in Southampton, this permanent role offers the chance to work closely with department heads and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and conduct variance analysis to inform business decisions.
• Collaborate with department heads to develop accurate budgets and forecasts.
• Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal control processes.
• Support the preparation of year‑end financial statements and audit processes.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records and systems.
• Assist with ad‑hoc financial projects and reporting as required by senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in management accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Knowledge of UK financial regulations and internal control standards.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
