Management Accountant

About the role

We Do Group is expanding its international infrastructure finance team with a newly created Management Accountant position. Based in Chester, you will work four days in the office and one day remotely, reporting to the Group Financial Controller and collaborating with a Project Accountant.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end close for all group entities, delivering a clean, reconciled trial balance.
• Review and correct transactional data posted by local teams, ensuring accurate coding.
• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and month‑end journal entries across multiple entities.
• Maintain the balance‑sheet reconciliation timetable and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Produce reliable entity‑level management accounts to support group consolidation.
• Process intercompany transactions, flagging and correcting discrepancies.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, process depreciation journals and perform bank reconciliations.
• Apply group accounting policies consistently, including capitalisation, depreciation, accruals and foreign‑exchange handling.
• Support the Group Financial Controller and external auditors with working papers and queries.
• Assist in setting up accounting processes and controls for new entities and contribute to an upcoming ERP implementation.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (finalist status acceptable) with the ability to run month‑end independently across multiple entities.
• Strong balance‑sheet discipline and experience with reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journal entries.
• Comfortable building structure in a growing finance function and mentoring junior staff.
